Once a group of 50 people was attending a seminar.Suddenly the speaker stopped and started giving each person a balloon. Each one was asked to write his/her name on it using a marker pen. Then all the balloons were collected and put in another room.
Now these delegates were let in that room and asked to find the balloon which had their name written, within 5 minutes.
Everyone was frantically searching for their name, pushing, colliding with each other, and there was utter chaos.
At the end of 5 minutes, no one could find their own balloon.
Now each one was asked to randomly collect a balloon and give it to the person whose name was written on it. Within minutes everyone had their own balloon.

RESPONSIBILITY: Are you responsible?
Responsibility
is taken from two words; response and ability. I have heard many people ask the
question, “WHO AM I”. It is not a wrong
question but if only we can carefully look within, we can discover that it’s a
question we have surreptitiously answered. For every challenge, every problem, every
crises life throws at you, life asks you the question “Who Are You?”
Life asks us
this question daily. Weather In our career, marriage, business or relationship.
What truly defines who we really are, depends on how we answer the question. Do
we respond or do we react?
Reactive
people are those who bend to the wind of difficulty. They prefer to play the
blame game. They blame circumstance,
they blame the government, they blame their boss for not increasing their pay
cheque, and they blame their spouse for not being a better partner. Unknowingly
they have become irresponsible; giving other people the power and circumstance
the wit to define who they are. They ignore the fact that they have an inherent
ability to be an agent of change.
On the other
hand there are some of us that don’t react to life, rather, we respond with our
ability: This is responsibility; it’s the ability to hold yourself accountable
for what happens in your life, to take initiative. This is what defines who you
are. It is what separate success from failures.
Responsible people
don’t wait for change, they effectuate change. They don’t wait for luck, they
prepare themselves for opportunities. They develop themselves; they always treat
others the way they want to be treated. They make the most of where they find
themselves per time.
Make a
decision today to be responsible, choose to be accountable for your success.
Whatever difficult circumstances you are facing, you have the ability to win. Remember
that each moment you choose to be reactive rather than responsive, you
subconsciously hibernate your abilities.

HOW TO DISCOVER YOUR POTENTIAL
Like I said in my previous post, we all have potential. You could as well own a land with the biggest diamond deposit in the word and still be poor. The fact that that you are poor doesn’t mean the diamond isn’t there. The diamonds are there but begging to be discovered and mined. So is our potential. The fact that you are unfulfilled and unhappy with the way your life is going is a sign that you are not yet living up your potential and you have to discover yourself.
Many of us are living the dreams of our parent, friends and family member. Some of us are doing what we are doing trying to prove a point to someone may be an ex. These are all wrong ways to live. If these are the motivation for doing what you are doing, it may lead to unhappiness. The fact that all your family members are Doctors doesn’t automatically mean you must be a Doctor.Don't live someone else dream. Below are three steps that can help you discover your potential.
1. Listen to yourself: learn to listen to what you love. I mean that deep craving in your heart, the very thing you can do without being paid. Call it your passion. You feel fulfilled, time seem to fly by when you’re engaged in this activity and you love doing it.
2. Pray for direction: Every manufacturer has an end use for every product. For example the pen is meant to write; therefore it is design to write. Cars are design differently from pen because cars are not design to write, they are design for locomotion. We are a product of God and God has a plan for our lives.
Jeremiah 29:11. I strongly believe that if you are confused about your purpose and what exactly you should do with your life; ask him he will tell yo.Matthew 7:7. Why this step Is very important is that sometimes you can have many passion, your heart can be craving for more than one passion. you need God to direct you so you will be able to separate your primary passion and potential from your secondary.
3.Take step: you can’t tap into your potential if you don’t take steps. Whatever you are doing at the moment you can still make out time to pursue your dream. Don’t live all your life fulfilling someone else dream. Are you passionate about business? While you are working you can start up your business and manage it after work time. You can pick up evening classes and part time courses to pursue your dream career. Find a way not an excuse.
I want to end this post by sharing with you a story of Joe Bottomly, and how he went on to discover his potential.
After over 30 years as a trial lawyer in Montana, in his mid-50s, Joe decided it was time to think about what he truly wanted to do with the rest of his life. He found himself feeling unmotivated, having been in a high stress, ultra-competitive field his entire life. Having previously dabbled in ceramics and drawing, Bottomly decided to leave his career, pack his bags, and move to Italy to enroll in an intensive art course at the Florence Academy of Art. Joe spent three years pursuing his passion, spending around 60 hours a week in the studio, making paintings. Going from being a qualified expert in his career to being a novice learner was “a slice of humble pie” for Bottomly, who was eager to keep learning, even in his 50s. “When you have a profession you got some success in, you identify yourself as that thing. You get a certain amount of ego satisfaction, also, structure in your identity,” Bottomly said, adding that he wanted to show people that you can learn at any age. He just graduated this summer and plans to pursue his career as an artist full time.

DISCOVERING YOUR POTENTIAL
“The greatest waste in the world is the difference between what we are and what we could become.” ~ Ben Herbster
Matthew was
a talented and creative designer who loved to put concepts together. However he
was raised in a poor family and had experienced that embarrassing feeling of
frequently being the only kid in his class without cool shoes, or the latest
gadget. While he loved designing, he felt it couldn’t make him money so he went
for more traditional methods such as Accounting.
No matter how hard he stuck at it he found
himself stressed, unhappy and even worse, and poor as he couldn’t seem to climb
up the ladder to success.
Finally in
desperation Matthew started to do some designing for friends on the side just
to keep himself sane. At first it was a free thing, but as his designs were
shown to others, people started to ask to pay him. He discovered that you could
actually be doing something you loved and get paid for it. He just wishes he’d
known that a lot earlier.
The story of
Matthew may not be too different from yours. You may feel stuck at the wrong
Job, reading the wrong course or doing something that doesn’t give you
fulfillment. You may have this feeling of emptiness lurking inside of you. Well!
This is time to listen to you. It’s the time to listen to the voice inside of
you. Time to discover yourself, Time to discover your potential!
You can be
anything you want to be, a Doctor, an Engineer, an author, just Name it.
However not all of these will give you fulfillment. It is only when you
discover your potential, that you will experience fulfillment. When we talk about potential we talk about the
inherent capacity for coming into being, your gift, ability, talent, and purpose;
that one thing you do effortlessly, and you have fun doing it.
Everyone has
talent the bible says that God gave gift to all men- Ephesians 4:8. For Matthew
it was designing. Yours could be sculptor, music, acting, or writing. Whatever
it is, understand that discovering your potential is the path to fulfillment.
“Man was designed for accomplishment, engineered for success, and endowed with the seeds of greatness.” ~ Zig Ziglar
I will be sharing with you how to discover your potential in my next post. If you love what you read don’t forget to share.

WHAT SUCCESS102 IS ALL ABOUT
I have decided to get blogging about anything and everything including motivation and self development , Leadership, and virtually anything i feel will be helpful. Sometimes the best way to learn is to share. I am determined to give it a go! I would also like to share all of my thoughts and share my findings about products and methods to solve the
issues that I've faced.
The bottom line is all about sharing and learning. Just like my favorite quotes says - " Find a way, not an excuse". We add knowledge every day because the difference between success and failures is information. Welcome on board and hope you have fun while we share, learn and inspire each other.
